What Does Proletariat Mean?

The Proletariat is the working class. These are average workers who do work under capitalism and are the victims of capitalism. Proletariat is the working class while a proletarian is an individual worker. These terms are commonly used by communists and other leftists. The opposite of the Proletariat is the Bourgeoisie and Aristocrats. The Bourgeoisie is the middle and in most cases upper classes in capitalism who exploits the Proletariat. Aristocrats are suppose to be rich people who often have positions in the local government or other forms of power, often even more powerful than the bourgeoisie. All these words (except aristocracy) come from Français (French), this is where lots of political and economic phrases came from.
